Visitor Code of Conduct and Time of Visit
Dear visitor, we welcome you to the world heritage complex of Golestan Palace.
Keeping hijab and respecting Islamic customs in the world heritage complex of Golestan Palace is mandatory.
Visit time:
✔Opening hours Saturday to Wednesday: 9 am to 6 pm, Ticket office: 9 am to 5 pm
✔Opening hours Thursday and Friday: 9 am to 7 pm, Ticket office: 9 am to 6 pm 16:35
✔ It is suggested to consider the time of your visit according to the visiting hours of Golestan Palace, as you need at least two hours to visit the complex.
Holidays of the Complex:
Golestan Palace will be closed during the following days,
✔ The deceased anniversary of Imam Khomeini (RA) / June 14
✔ The martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Ali (AS) / 21 Ramadan
✔ Tasua Hosseini / 9 Muharram
✔ Ashura Hosseini / 10 Muharram
✔ The deceased anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan Mojtaba (PBUH) / 28 Safar
✔ The martyrdom anniversary of Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS) / 25 Shawwal
Visiting regulations:
✔ Before group visits, it is necessary to coordinate with the public relations office of Golestan Palace and make a prior appointment.
✔ Dear visitors, if you want to visit a specific museum and not the whole parts of the complex, contact the public relations office.
✔ Visiting exhibitions that are held in museums requires paying the entrance ticket to the complex.
✔ Using baby strollers and wheelchairs for physically disabled people is prohibited due to the presence of stairs in the entrances and museums halls and they can only be used in the open area of the garden.
✔ Avoid carrying bulky items, large bags and backpacks, tea flasks and picnic supplies.
✔ Bringing animals (domestic and wild) into the open area and the interior of the museum is forbidden
✔ The use of bicycles, scooters and other such play equipment is prohibited in all areas of the complex.
✔ It is prohibited to carry, distribute or install any artistic, commercial, political, etc. advertisements in the complex.
✔ Read the information provided in notice boards and brochures.
✔ The museum guides are ready to answer your questions about the museum objects.
✔ It is forbidden to talk on mobile phones inside the museum.
✔ Making noise (talking loudly and shouting), using loudspeakers (audio, music, radio, etc.) and disturbing other visitors is forbidden.
✔ Avoid touching and leaning on technical equipment and facilities in museums.
✔ Smoking is prohibited inside the museums.
Facilities of the Complex:
✔ To pray, go to the prayer room located on the southeast side of the complex.
✔ To buy publications and handicrafts, visit the store located at the entrance of Bab Aali - Nasser Khosro St.
✔ To take a souvenir photo in a traditional Qajar dress, visit the photography studio located on the southeast side of the complex.
Photography:
✔Photography and filming in Golestan Palace area is allowed without a tripod
✔ Professional photography with tripods and accessories is prohibited and must be done with prior permission
✔The use of Helishot (aerial filming) is prohibited.
✔ Due to the high wavelength of light, the flash light of photographic cameras creates tension in the structure of historical works, especially paintings, weavings and pigmented works. As a results, please turn off the camera flash while taking pictures.
✔ Any kind of filming, advertising photography and modeling is prohibited in the premises and inside the museums.
✔ Avoid stopping for a long time to take pictures and don't ask the museum staff to take pictures of you and your companions.
✔ Photography and filming without hijab and non-observance of Islamic customs are prohibited inside the museums and complex area.
Protection and security:
✔ Photography of safety, technical, security and protection equipment (surveillance cameras, etc.) is prohibited in all indoor and outdoor areas of the Golestan Palace World Heritage Complex in any way.
✔ It is strictly forbidden to bring any hot and cold weapons, firearms, war tools and also telecommunications (wireless) equipment into the complex.
✔ Monitoring and surveying of visitors or museum staff must be done with permission from the security unit office.
✔ It is forbidden to enter the lawn area
✔ If you see non-compliance with the rules by others or any problems occur, especially damage to the cultural-historical works and buildings of the complex, please refer to the respected security colleagues.
You can buy the tickets of the complex from the ticket office. Sold tickets are non-refundable.
Note: The upper floors of the Shams el-Emareh Edifice are not accessible.
