Our Fields of MistriaGifts Guide will go over how to become better friends with the residents of Mistria, and the best gifts for each person.

The characters in Fields of Mistria have a lot to teach you about survival skills such as magic and blacksmithing, but they can also make great friends or romantic companions. Giving the townsfolk the right gifts can drastically improve your relationship with them. Read on to learn which gives you can give to people in Fields of Mistria!

How Gifts Work in Fields of Mistria

Fields of Mistria gifts can be given to each character, which will increase their friendship if they accept them. Characters will generally accept most items for a small gain, though they also have 20 items they like and 10 items they love that increase friendship gain even further.

Gifts can be given each day, which will be marked in the Villagers list in the pause menu. Any liked or loved gifts given will show up in that character's page afterwards. Giving gifts on birthdays (viewable on the calender or at the start of a day) results in even more friendship gain.

How Romance and Friendship Works

As of Fields of Mistria Early Access launch, romance is currently not available. Characters can be raised up to 4 hearts (eventually this will increase to 10 max), which is done by talking to them and giving them gifts each day. The Spring Festival also increases friendship if you place in the top three.

The Villagers list in the pause menu shows how much progress you've made with each character. Once the bar fills, their hearts increase by one. A small icon will also pop up above your head after you increase heart level with a character, similar to skill level ups.

While it's not possible to romance characters at this time, you can see which ones will be dateable later down the line. Next to their dialogue boxes while talking to them and next to the character portraits in the Villagers menu, you'll see a heart next to the characters that will be romanceable.

Character events take place at 2 and 4 hearts, currently only involving the love interests. You'll receive mail at the beginning of the day when you reach these ranks, telling you to go somewhere to view the event. There seems to be some randomness to this, meaning you may need to wait a few days before the mail comes in.
